How it works?

Our patented two chamber system solves
all your cigar problems!

What´s inside?

1. Plug

Allows you to fill the reservoir chamber or refill or add more fluid without taking apart the whole unit.

2. Vent cover and two screw

Seals the humigard and stops moisture from leaking from exposed wick or directly from the reservoir.

3. Evaporation chamber

Holds the humidity control paste that restricts evaporation to the desired humidity.

4. Wick

The passive mechanism that transfers fluid into the evaporation chamber as needed.

5. Reservoir

Holds unused cedar fluid that is brought up into the evaporation chamber to recharge the humidity control paste.

Self Feeding
System

Recharges itself drawing water up from the reservoir.

Passive, no moving or electronic parts using simple science (wicking action).

Restricts evaporation to your exact specifications using our proprietary humidity control paste.

Prevents mold and bacterial growth with the help of our proprietary cigar cedar solution.

Two Chamber System

The patent pending “two chamber system” using a cotton wick to connect the storage chamber to the evaporation chamber means no matter how much fluid there is in the lower chamber the upper chamber always performs at peak levels. Most humidification gets weaker as the water is used, in gel packs, bead and gel trays or jars and foam-soaked plastic trays. They all need constant attention.

Wicking Action

No pumps, no batteries, no electronics! A simple cotton wick moves water 24 hours a day using basic laws of physics. It can be rinsed in a sink repeatedly, never needing to be replaced. This type of system allows the “Evaporation Chamber”, to have steady long-term evaporation.

Cedar Cigar Solution

Distilled water infused with water soluble cedar oil. Cigar humidors are lined with Spanish cedar. The oil that is present in this wood, has a chemical known as Cedrol. Cedrol is the active ingredient used in natural pest controls. Everything from fence poles, humidors, cedar closets, and cedar hope chests, have been lined with different types of cedar wood to prevent against mold, off smells and small pests (in this case, tobacco beetles).

Cedar Oil primarily used to control the egg laying cycle, dissolving the protective layer and dehydrating the eggs. Also adding freshness to clothing and cigars as it slows down the growth of mold and bacteria.

In the Humigard, for long term use of the product, the cedar oil preserves the cotton wick. Slowing down any chance for bacterial growth or mold inside the unit. The evaporative control paste inside the top tray, is manufactured from a blend of salts, which control evaporation and also work as a preservative and control bacterial growth as well. When it is time to install new paste. you can clean the humigard using warm water, and start over again.

Humidity Control Paste

Anyone who has a humidor or stores cigars is familiar with the humidity packets that are sold all over the world. These disposable packets control evaporation using a combination of salts. The reason they are so popular is because they are very accurate. The downside, they don’t hold a lot of fluid. You have to buy them over and over again. Humigard uses the same concept to get the accuracy, but the unit continuously recharges the paste, using a wick that moves the water from the storage chamber. Thus, giving you the best of both worlds. The accuracy of the packets with the longevity of the electronic units that hold large amounts of fluid.

How to set up
your Humigard?

1

Remove the screws and remove the Fluid Filler Plug.

2

Remove the vented top plate.

3

Select the evaporation paste you wish to use (Red 64-65%, Yellow 67-68%, Blue 70-71%).

4

Cut the corner of the packet and fill both top trays- coating the wick to a maximum fill level, using the trowel provided.

5

Replace the top vent and replace the screws (use a screw driver only, do not use a screw gun).

6

Fill the tank, no higher than the max fill line, using only Cedar Cigar Fluid. Do not use distilled water, do not use glycol solution. To avoid mold, and bacteria on the cotton wick, you must use a natural antimicrobial product that will not affect the aroma of the cigars.

7

Replace the Fluid Filler Plug with a quarter turn (finger tighten only).

8

Place the humigard in the lower half of the humidor. Once the humigard is set up, it must be kept upright to avoid faulty results.
